Richard M. Hansen and Associates, Inc. has an immediate opening for an Electrical Engineer working in the electrical forensic environment. The candidate will be working in a consulting firm as part of a team dealing with electrical fire and accident investigations. 

Job Description:

• Investigate and consult on electrical equipment and electrical evaluations of failed and damaged components to determine the root cause of the failure including lightning damage, electrocutions, electrically related fires, appliance and consumer product failure evaluation
• Determine the cause of fires in accordance with National Building Codes and NFPA requirements
• Conduct field investigations and analyze fires of various types of electrical equipment and wiring systems
• Analysis of technical problems and electrical analysis of failed or damaged systems
• Field work and travel will be required

 Requirements:  

• ·        BS in Electrical Engineer
• ·        PE or EIT on track to become PE preferred
• ·        2 + years of related experience
• ·        Prior forensic experience preferred
• ·        Familiarity with National Building Codes and NFPA requirements
• ·        Prior litigation experience is preferred or the desire to work in an expert witness environment
• ·        The candidate should have a strong understanding of residential, commercial, industrial and utility systems
• ·        Solid written and verbal communication skills are a must
